
Takuji Okubo
Faculty Profile
Takuji Okubo spent 11 years as an investment bank economist, spanning his career at Goldman Sachs and later becoming Chief Economist at Societe Generale covering Japan and South Korea.
In 2012, he left the industry to found Japan Macro Advisors, an economic consultancy servicing institutional clients. His firm recently extended its coverage to India, opening an office in Bangalore.
In 2020, he retired from executive roles at Japan Macro Advisors and joined The Economist group as its Economist Corporate Network North Asia Director, responsible for Japan and South Korea.
Takuji is also a Director at Japan Risk Forum, a non-profit industry association of risk managers in Japan. Takuji is a graduate from Tokyo University, INSEAD (MBA) and UPF in Barcelona.
