Overview

As design evolves to areas like Product Design, design professionals often have to balance user goals with business goals. This course will focus on a few approaches to elevate design to the strategic level, helping to drive your product and team to align on these goals. Learn how to influence scope, success metrics, find market fit and clarify the value proposition for your product.

Methodology

This course will consist of:

Subject matter lectures, Group collaboration and ideation, In-class guided worksessions, Relevant recommended reading, Practice team difficult conversations and feedback sessions, Daily homework, Final group project and presentation.

Classroom Policies:

Punctuality, be on time before the start of class everyday! Cell phones must be turned off (or set to vibrate) during class. No personal email or instant messenger exchange during class time.Laptops down, unless otherwise told. No food or drink in the lab.

Grading

The final grade will be composed of the following criteria:
45% - Homework
35% - Final project & presentation

He leads a team building experiences for explore and search at Twitter. He strives to build diverse teams and safe spaces, making sure everyone is included and all voices are heard. Over the years he helped to build many products from 0-1 elevating designers to the strategy sphere.

Previously he was at Lyft where he was a Head of Design for Lyft Business, leading a suite of products for organizations to get rides for their people. He launched Lyft Pass a self-service product that allow companies to create ride programs.
