Skills you’ll learn
3D technology has been around since the 1970s, but it's only been in the last decade that it's become accessible to people other than technically-oriented professionals. With the availability of low-cost and powerful 3D tools, the design industry has seen an emergence of 3D designers in various fields such as motion design, UI/UX, experiential, and architecture, to name a few. Although already high in demand, more industries will be looking for designers proficient in 3D as new platforms emerge that are capable of handling 3D content.

Class recap and takeaways
Since we will be jumping into Cinema 4D in session 1, it will be very beneficial for students to have Cinema 4D r25 installed and make sure your computers have enough free space.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, illustrator, and After Effects is a plus.
Creating 3D work is an intricate and lengthy process so time management outside of class will be important.
Each class will generally be split between presentations, exercises, and project time.
Exercises will be demoed in class. Students are expected to follow along.
Three weekly projects. (concept, design, animation, and render)
Brent Austin is a 3D animator and motion designer who began his career working at Sarofsky in Chicago, Illinois. While there, he worked on title sequences for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War, Antman, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. These projects provided an interesting blend of design and technical challenges, which honed his skills as a 3D-oriented designer.
After leaving Sarofsky, Brent transitioned to freelance, where he continues to help solve interesting design problems for clients such as Apple, Meta, Coinbase, and Meister.tv.
