Skills you’ll learn
The Startup 101 course is an introductory course to entrepreneurship and allows the participants to work on an idea or venture while they are gradually being introduced to what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We’ll bust myths about high-tech startups, and we’ll create a vibrant atmosphere of high-paced action, learning and iterating. We’ll quickly form ad-hoc teams on Day 1 and get going.
This course will do things in the exact same way as entrepreneurs do them in real life; we won’t pack dense lectures, but assume that prior knowledge is not a necessity to get started. We’ll figure things out across the week as a group.
We’ll collect feedback from students each day and tweak the courses of the next day as needed, based on the progress of the day before and the feedback we collect from students by the end of the day.
By the end of the week, all teams will pitch their progress and learnings to the others.
5 classes
Day 1 - Introduction to the course
Day 2 - Learning from customers if your idea makes sense
Day 3 - Your first marketing attempts
Day 4 - Run your experiments
Day 5 - Gather learnings and pitch
Robbert is an entrepreneur and software developer, who wrote his first lines of codes on an Atari ST when he was 8 years old. He founded his first company at the age of 19. Today Robbert is an investor and board member of several SaaS startups in the Netherlands. He’s the Director of Product at Builders, a startup studio from Rotterdam.
Robbert also founded the first Lean Startup Circle meetup group in continental Europe in an effort to create closer ties with other entrepreneurs facing the tough challenges of building a business. As such he became one of the first mentors and advisors at several well-known Dutch incubation and acceleration programs such as Rockstart, YES!Delft, Antler and Utrecht Inc. He coached hundreds of other founders of tech startups in the past decade and has developed entrepreneurship workshops from scratch which many of these programs across Europe still use today.
