Nikolai Lopin
Faculty Profile
Nik Lopin builds the parts of the internet people use every day. As a software engineer at Stripe — the financial infrastructure behind approximately 1.6% of global GDP (Gross Domestic Product) — he specialises in front-end development and design systems: reusable building blocks that enable teams to ship coherent interfaces without reinventing a button every week.
With a degree in applied mathematics and over 15 years of industry experience, he has worked across the stack, shipped products, managed teams, and led product decisions, moving between roles as an engineer and a product owner. Nik has created design systems for companies including FREENOW, FactorialHR, and Stripe.
He believes that the best software comes from genuine curiosity and from people who enjoy solving problems together. He teaches accordingly: hands-on, opinionated, and firmly opposed to cargo-cult coding.
