Yevgeniy Ilyin
Faculty Profile
Yevgeniy Ilyin is a Sr. Solutions Architect at Databricks in Zurich. He received his master degree in mathematics at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and graduated with a Certificate Programme in Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich. Yevgeniy is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
He has collected over 20 years of end-to-end experience working in the Financial Services Industry (FSI) in different verticals, such as asset and fund management, trading systems and order management, core banking and front end.
Yevgeniy is ex-Amazon, spending 5 years as Principal Solutions Architect for AIML and generative AI workloads. He also spent over 9 years at one of the biggest Swiss banks, where he built a data science and data analytics platform for Global Legal and Compliance. He directly managed an IT budget of over 200 million USD and led a global team of 100 engineers, business analysts, and data scientists. He worked at the biggest Swiss banking software vendor, where he led a product management and fintech acquisition and evaluation teams and delivered a company-wide OpenAPI product strategy.
In his role at Databricks, Yevgeniy is responsible for enterprise customers and for developing modern data intelligence architectures with the focus on business intelligence, AI, ML, and data analytics.
He is the author and co-author of multiple applied articles on AWS Machine Learning Blog, public talks, and public hands-on workshops on security, ML, MLOps, and generative AI topics.
