
Olaf Knijn
Faculty Profile
Olaf serves a Sales Enabler at SalesTomorrow, developing sales strategies for start-up’s, scale-up’s and corporates. Previously, he was involved as Global Sales Lead at HRS Group and as Global Sales Excellence Director at Lufthansa’s AirPlus. Prior to this Olaf has started and grown various bootstrapped companies (K2-B, PiM’S, SalesTomorrow), and gained field experience in sales as sales executive, sales Manager and Commercial Director within the software industry.
“In my professional career it has always been about building things. From early on I’d be selected to start up a new department, head up sales for a new product or start selling into a new market segments. Building something where there is still preciously little.”
This resulted in a volatile career, both entrepreneurial and working as employee, in different industries and different roles. But always building: building a business, or a structure or a program, or all of it. Later in life, that turned more and more into helping people to build their knowledge, their skills and their professionalism to become the best salesperson they could be.
“Privately I enjoy the same things and these give me energy: I like building my own skills, endurance and strength with sports, I like to see my children grow, and become sensible young adults, I like what I can do for friends and family, who are very important to me. And last but not least: I very much like to get creative in the kitchen and provide guests and family with my creations!”
In all of the above humour plays a big role: never take yourself too seriously…
