Skills you’ll learn
This inspired, experiential course is designed to encourage students to develop a socially responsible leadership style. Students will be introduced to the historical and philosophical traditions of altruism as well as the social change model of leadership through case studies of “change agents.” Students will be guided through a series of “self-understanding” discussions which will allow them to apply a purposeful, collaborative, values-based process to their educational plans, professional goals, personal aspirations, and visions for a better world. Components of the course involve significant “hands-on” service-learning experiences in the city of Barcelona, extensive thought discussions and two reflective video essays or project presentations.
