Overview

The course gives a 360° view of time series analysis methods and real-world problems. The main focus is on forecasting, with a range of solutions from simple averaging to foundation models. The course also covers other learning problems such as classification, clustering and anomaly detection, as well as using time series in online experiments.

Probability and statistics: understanding randomness, prediction uncertainty, hypothesis testing.

The final grade will be composed of the following criteria:
10% - Assignment 1
20% - Assignment 2
20% - Assignment 3
50% - Final exam

Senior Data Scientist at The Trade Desk, London

Evgeniy Riabenko is a data scientist and researcher with 15 years of experience in both industry and academia. He got his PhD in mathematical modelling from Moscow State University, and has expertise in statistics, machine learning, optimization, and bioinformatics.

He taught statistics and data analysis courses at Harbour Space, Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Higher School of Economics, as well as on various online platforms.
