From Front-End Development to Interaction Design: Rada’s Bold Career Change at Harbour.Space
Women Shaping the Future
March is our Women in Tech month at Harbour.Space, a time to celebrate bold decisions, brave pivots, and the women shaping the future. Rada’s story is exactly about that: embracing change.
Originally from Romania, Rada arrived in Spain on July 26, 2025 and started at Harbour.Space in September 2025, enrolling in the Front-End Development Master’s. She had studied coding before, so it felt like the natural path. But as she dove deeper into the program, something shifted. The more she coded, the more she realized that what truly excited her wasn’t the syntax, it was the human side of tech. She found herself fascinated by the “why” behind how things look and feel, more inspired by user journeys than by lines of code. So she made a bold decision: she switched to the Interaction Design Master’s. What began as uncertainty turned into clarity. She connected more with the professors, felt more aligned with the courses, and discovered a space where creativity and empathy meet technology.
Finding Her Community
Beyond academics, what Rada values most is the community. One of her favorite experiences so far has been the Andorra Snow Summit, a few days in Andorra where students not only ski together but also take part in educational workshops and formative sessions. It’s a mix of learning, bonding, and stepping outside the traditional classroom environment. For Rada, it was the moment she truly felt part of a community, building friendships that made university life feel more meaningful. She also appreciates how Harbour.Space constantly tries to do things differently from traditional universities, and highlights the professionalism, openness, and real-world experience of the professors.

Living the Barcelona Energy
Barcelona plays a huge role in her journey too. For Rada, it’s a city that never sleeps, full of celebrations, events, dancing, sports, beach days, and endless energy. She lives right above a bar in the city center, surrounded by music and people, and instead of noise she feels alive. Long walks around the city, pilates with friends, beach afternoons, dreaming about painting on clothes again, spending time with people she loves, her lifestyle reflects exactly what she discovered in her studies: tech is about connection, emotion, and human experience.

This March, It’s Your Turn
Rada’s story is a reminder that your first choice doesn’t have to be your final one. Growth often starts when you listen to yourself and dare to pivot. This March, as part of our Women in Tech campaign, we celebrate women who embrace change, and we invite more to do the same. If you’re ready to start or redefine your path in tech, this is your moment: throughout March, all accepted women receive 5000€ off their tuition fee.
