Confidence Over Perfection: Alina’s Journey into Tech
This March, as part of our Women in Tech campaign, we celebrate Alina, a second-year Interaction Design student at Harbour.Space who turned courage and authenticity into a real opportunity in the tech industry. Her story is not about being perfect. It is about being bold enough to try.

Women Shaping the Future
March at Harbour.Space is dedicated to Women in Tech. It is a time to celebrate ambition, resilience, and the women who are redefining what leadership in technology looks like.
Alina’s journey captures this spirit perfectly.
Originally focused on building her path in Europe and securing her first internship, she immersed herself in opportunities, scrolling through LinkedIn, applying, interviewing, learning. Instead of waiting until she felt fully ready, she decided to move forward anyway.
Today, she is interning in Communications Design at SAP, one of Europe’s leading software companies.
You Do Not Have to Be a 100 Percent Match
One of the most powerful lessons from Alina’s experience is simple: you do not need to tick every box.
When reviewing job descriptions, she focused on the points that genuinely resonated with her skills and interests. Instead of trying to impersonate the “perfect candidate,” she chose to be authentic, highlighting her strengths and thinking on her feet during interviews.
For designers especially, the portfolio speaks louder than perfection. At Harbour.Space, students build real portfolio projects and case studies throughout their studies. These practical, industry-driven experiences gave Alina tangible proof of her abilities and helped her stand out.
Her success was not accidental. It was built on preparation, self-awareness, and the confidence to show up as herself.
Empowered by Community
Beyond academics and internships, Alina speaks about inspiration.
She feels empowered by the female professors, staff, and coworkers around her. For her, being a woman in tech is a journey of growth, visibility, and self-advocacy. Seeing women stand up for themselves and make a name in the industry reinforces what is possible.
Representation matters. Community matters. Confidence matters.
This March, It’s Your Turn
Alina’s story is proof that you do not have to feel fully ready to begin. You simply have to start.
As part of our Women in Tech initiative, Harbour.Space is proud to support the next generation of female innovators.
All female applicants who submit their application by March 31 will receive €5,000 off tuition.
Technology needs more diverse voices, perspectives, and leaders.
This March, take the step. 🚀
