A High Tech Harbour of the 21st century

We are excited that our hard work and efforts paid off and Harbour.Space University officially opened their doors to the world on July 26th 2016. It was incredible to share what we’ve been working on with our students, partners, fellow entrepreneurs, parent associations and representatives of the city council, but above all, we were surrounded by friends.

Our enthusiasm, philosophy and the vision of how we should approach higher education to change the world resonated and inspired attendees. We foster creativity, innovation, and have the desire to challenge the status quo through world-class education and knowledge creation.

The goal is to nurture and accelerate talent that will go on to develop high tech solutions to contemporary societal challenges. People often ask us «why harbour?». From Carthage and Piraeus, to Shanghai and Singapore, harbours are where people and cultures mix and flourish.

In Spanish there is an expression «arrive to a safe harbour», which means to succeed. This is how Harbour.Space was born, in the old port of Barcelona, to become a place where talent, imagination and work come together to nurture the next generation of high-tech professionals. A high-tech harbour of the 21st century.

The inspiring speeches from Kamran Elahian, Advisory Board member of the University, Svetlana Velikanova, Co-Founder and CEO of Harbour.Space, and Xavier Mayo, in charge of current programs for fostering entrepreneurship and attracting foreign investment to the City of Barcelona, made the guests understand and share the vision of Harbour.Space.

The event underlined the importance of Harbour.Space landing within the ecosystem of the city of Barcelona. It explained the dream of providing the best students with the best mentors and tools to nurture their talent and how that will prepare them for the innovative economies of tomorrow.

We are looking forward to meeting many more people that share our vision. Please come and visit us!
